"For this collection I’ve been inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper with their stark shadows, clear colors and poignant lines.
Simultaneously I find a softness and femininity to them. The colors are the colors of Hopper’s shadows; light pear, off-white, ice blue and grey. I combine them with plum, cold turquoise and pale pink.
This collection has a second hand feel to the materials, paired with “modern” fabrics in milder colors. The sometimes cold colors are softened by feminine details, such as visible flounces and pleats. The pale and distinct colors lends the composition its photographic vibe of a 1940’s something moment." |
