My shopping guide to Stockholm

Some time ago I was contacted by Stay.com and asked to share my best shopping spots in Stockholm on their city guide. Said and done – now you can read my shopping guide to Stockholm here as well.

When travelling I love finding spots I never would have found alone without help from locals. Here you have my favourite shops, and art gallery, sorted by “-malm” (island) in Stockholm.

SÖDERMALM

GrandpaProcessed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset

Since the founding of Grandpa in 2003 they have offered a different type of shopping. A great mix of hipster interior and classic clothes brands. Both for her and him. Perfect to find any gift you might need! They also have a shop on Kungsholmen (see below) and in Gothenburg.

Address: Södermannagatan 21
T-bana: Medborgarplatsen

Nitty Gritty – Grit girl

One of Stockholms classic shops that has been around for years bringing British, and now Frensh style to us. Their woman’s shop opened few years ago and have high-end brands mixed with perfect accessories. Slightly bigger wallet is needed, but inspiration is free!

Address: Kammakargatan 26
T-bana: Zinkensdamm

Dusty Deco

A garage shop hidden on Södermalm with great interior shopping! The owner travels around Europe and brings back great treasures of industrial lamps, furniture and small decoration.

Address: Hornstullstrand 7
T-bana: Hornstull

Francis Floor

A lovely shop in SOFO, Södermalm, with logo of the totally adorable little dog that welcomes you. The two nice owners mix few brands with focus on accessories. The floor is black/white chess patterned and A great example that big hearts don’t always need big spaces to impress.

Address: Södermannagatan 18
T-bana: Medborgarplatsen

A Place, Brunogallerian

They have several shops in Stockholm, but the one in Brunogallerian is my favorite. A hipster shop with young brands that are interesting and very representing for the Scandinavian fashion.

Address: Götgatan 36
T-bana: Slussen

Sandqvist, flagship store

The popular Swedish bag brand have recently opened their second shop in Gothenburg, but this is their flagship store. Visiting it is like coming into a warm and cozy cabin with wood panels and lovely staff. Don’t miss out on this one!

Adress: Swedenborgsgatan 3
T-bana: Mariatorget

Brandstationen

This old fire station is now turned into a vintage interior heaven for anyone that loved rusty lamps, old maps and stuffed animals. Owned by Christian who also has Judith Herr, second hand for picky men.

Address: Kammakargatan 22
T-bana: Mariatorget

When you are done shopping fashion/interior you should stop by Gallery Steinsland Berliner for some art shopping! A great spot to see new and upcoming artists.

This is where you buy them before they boom and here is also where your love for art starts when you are guided by the lovely staff. Forget the old dusty galleries with snobbish staff that makes you hate it more than love it. Art is love and this place is a must!

Address: Bondegatan 70
T-bana: Medborgarplatsen or bus 3 from Slussen

(This gorgeous aquarelle painting by Ylva Carlgren is really too die for!!)

PUB

This is an old department shop on Hötorget divided into two buildings. The one closes to Hötorget got remodeled few years ago and changed focus into younger audience with nice smaller shop in shops. Great interior shopping, nice mix of fashion and a very nice lunch restaurant where you can relax and have a glass of wine before strolling further.

T-bana: Hötorget

ÖSTERMALM

Processed with VSCOcam with lv02 presetSnickarbacken 7

Lovely shop in an old bunker location close to Stureplan, Östermalmstorg. They have a café that makes my Sundays perfect too. They carry a perfect balance of books, fashion and accessories. A must!

Address: Snickarbacken 7
T-bana: Östermalmstorg

Mrs H

Also one of the first stores in Stockholm to bring us international high-end fashion. The owner has a great sense of mixing brands into perfect cravings! Situated in a small passage that’s the closes we get to Paris here in Stockholm.

Address: Birger Jarlsgatan 9
T-bana: Östermalmstorg

Acne, Norrmalmstorg

Most visitors in Stockholm end up at Acnes flagship store on Norrmalmstorg, but I suggest you visit the shop to see the beautiful former bank location. If you ever heard of “Stockholm syndrome” then you know that it was born here in the 70’s drama.

Address: Norrmalmstorg 2
T-bana: Östermalmstorg

Whyred, Mäster Samuelsgatan

Next to one of Swedens eldest tailor shops lies Whyreds shop. Stylish, plain and nice. I like their everyday styles and I have a soft spot for the brass interior. A nice example of how Scandinavian effortless can look like.

Address: Mäster Samuelsgatan 3
T-bana: Östermalmstorg

KUNGSHOLMEN

Grandpa, Kungsholmen

Stuff, clothes and much more mixed in retro style. Owned by three friends who started for fun and now are one of Swedens leading middle range shop. Perfect for gift shopping combined with your own shopping!
